30-year-old medical student Roger is engulfed in a lonely paradox. He is searching for answers regarding family tragedies that have been unresolved. Roger lost his sister Alice when he was 9 years old. Frequent fond memories and dreams portray the unique bond they once shared. These are reminders of the love and security he lacks and craves. Shortly after discovering his mother is in a state of comatose, Roger quits school and re-establishes himself in Hoboken, New Jersey. The added responsibilities of paying his mothers medical bills and helping maintain his fathers coffee shop, changes Rogers life dramatically.
